Vol 6 covers the start of the Baratie Arc , the introduction of the character sanji and his back story, the betrayal of Nami, the start of the fight against the Krieg pirates, and the fight between Zoro and Mihawk
Considerations
the most impressive thing that happens in this Vol is that Mihawk cuts a ridiculously large ship, this does not scale back to any of our relevant characters but is just set up to show our main characters are far from the strongest and to expand the scope of the world
the only other thing that is mentioned that can be tied back to power scaling is Don Krieg mentions that this armor is made of Wootz metal, initially, it could just be assumed this is a fictional name for a fictional metal, but apparently, it is a real type of steel that is similar to Damascus steel, it is relevant as in the next volume it it able to tank multiple of Luffys strongest attacks but that will be discussed in the next volume's post
