Volume 5 starts the Chunin Exams Arc

Feat from Chapter 38

Guy 199px / 483px = 0.4120 , 41.20% of 70 degrees is 28.8405 degrees , Guy 184cm is 28.8405 degrees at 357.7902cm

we measure reaction speed blitz as 1meter / character's reaction speed X number of Meter of the blitz , unless Sasuke can attack faster than his reaction speed than Guy is at least 3.5779x faster than Sasuke and if Sasuke has Professional Athlete level reaction speed of 100 milliseconds than Guy would be moving at least 1M/0.1s X 3.57790 = 35.7790M/s or 128.8044 Kilometers per hour

Analysis of the First Chunin Exam

Full explanation of the rules

Quick explanation
Quick explanation

Naruto is unable to answer any of the question with the last question being hidden until the end of the time limit leaving his possible score of 1/10 and if he is unable of answer the last question correctly he will be at 0/10 and failing not just himself but his whole team , at the end of the time the exam proctor reveals some new rules

and for the sake of contrivance the plot forgets about or selectively applies the 4th rule , if you fail your team fails , as if you reject the question you and the team fails but than it fails to account for if you accept the question and still fail to answer correctly that you could still have not enough point to pass the test and hence trigger rule 4 eliminating you and your team

why it does so seem to be obvious as the point of the last rule is just to have the heart to continue in the face of adversity so the ability to answer the question is secondary to the purposes of the plot

this is even more clear when the exam proctor explains the exam as an analogy where the first 4 rules stand for a mission of espionage where you can not afford to be caught and the later rules being for a perilous mission that tests your resolve

and because the plot does not keep track of its rules the second half comes off as a malformed analogy where

the exam contestants are the ninja on a perilous mission assigned to get intelligence

the failing of the test and having to take it again is the failing of the mission which comes with some harm

the accepting or rejecting of the tenth question is willingness to go on the perilous mission

meaning the failing to go on the mission is to reject the question which comes with some harm

and the accepting to go on the mission is to accept the question

it than tries to say that accepting the mission/question means accepting risk that one can not avoid as at some point it must be done by you or a teammate

this would make more sense if all the teammates risked never taking the test again if one person failed as if you succeed you risk you teammates failing you or if instead the rule of failing fails your teammates, which is still in effect as that is what happen when a single teammate doesn't accept the tenth question, no longer applied so you are all either risking more to gain more or you are individually risking your self so others may gain

which it does try to play it off as the latter

but as it forgets about is own rule the latter is just not the case because if he accepts and fail Sasuke and Sakura would also suffer

and as Naruto never thinks about the risking a miracle of knowing the correct answer he is only trying to risk his future prospects

so on both side of the decision is a certainty of failing the test with the only difference is one side also comes with never getting to take the test again which re-frames Naruto's decision of self sacrifice and inspirational which the rest of the chapter makes Naruto's decision out to be , to be a pure act of giving up or in the analogy a pure act of suicide as the risk of failing is certain on each side but the risk of never re-taking the test for no benefit at all is not, but he throws himself into it never the less

the Face of an absolute idiot
the Face of an absolute idiot

the second exam also starts in this volume but its rules are basically just a capture the flag and it and the fights coming up will be cover in the next volume review
